Welcome Back!

Hello, everyone! It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, and we missed you! We want to let you know that we are returning to provide the UMass community with our student-led storytelling campaign. Though we can’t be together right now, we will continue to deliver authentic student voices. We aim to strengthen our community through Voices even when we are apart, including tackling some difficult but important issues that exist on this very campus, such as racial justice reform, the struggle to maintain mental health while remote, and more.

We hope that you’re adjusting to this ‘new normal’ wherever you are, whether it be in Amherst or at home. This unprecedented change has not been easy for any of us to navigate. We know that there are significant obstacles to face in the coming months as we all adapt to a vastly different semester than we imagined. One of the greatest challenges we'll encounter is losing touch with the UMass community that we love so dearly. Voices will be a touchstone for us to stay connected to each other when we feel so far apart.

Our content this semester will remain true to what we’ve always delivered: genuine student experiences at UMass Amherst. We anticipate that as this experience shifts significantly our stories will too. Stories covering student perspectives on the current political climate, virtual events, and socially-distant activities in the Amherst area are just a sample of what we have in store for you this semester.

As many of our ways of connecting have been put on pause, we want to emphasize that the student community is still here, albeit virtually. We want to hear from you, the students, about what is inspiring or challenging you this semester; what you are living through, and how you’re doing. As always, if you have a great idea for a story or feature, send it our way!
