About UMass Amherst Voices

Founded in 2019, UMass Amherst Voices is a team of storytellers that promote inclusive narratives that are authentic and representative of everyone in the UMass Amherst community. We feature pieces on fashion, first-person perspectives, and long-form features about you.

If you have a story, we want to hear it. Let's be in touch!

The Team

Aishah Tolentino

Aishah is a junior at UMass Amherst double majoring in Film and Media Studies and Spanish. She focuses on visual story telling and advocacy for those underrepresented through her deep passion for photography and film. You can often find her doing photoshoots, making videos, creating graphics, and sharing stories. Aishah plays volleyball and loves being outdoors- so, if you see a girl on a pink bike with a camera, that’s her!

This year, she’s the editor-in-chief of the The Rebirth Project, an initiative that was started by Black journalism students  in 2016 to encourage students of marginalized identities to share their stories. She also works at the Stonewall Educational Resource Center on campus as a programming assistant helping LGBTQ+ students through social and educational events. During her free time Elienishka likes to watch cat videos.
