About UMass Amherst Voices
Founded in 2019, UMass Amherst Voices is a team of storytellers that promote inclusive narratives that are authentic and representative of everyone in the UMass Amherst community. We feature pieces on fashion, first-person perspectives, and long-form features about you.
If you have a story, we want to hear it. Let's be in touch!
Hi! I’m Sophia, a senior communication major with a minor in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. I’m passionate about reading, cooking, and politics. In my free time, I love to listen to music and go running. I hope to be a writer of any kind after I graduate!
I’m Taeko Gupta. I'm currently a junior journalism and communication student here at UMass, and am involved with the Daily Collegian, the PR Club, and the Outing Club. I’m always down to pet a dog, go on a hike with friends, or watch a good sunset. My favorite quote is by Tracee Ellis Ross: "I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me."
What's up everyone, my name is Katrina Rojas and I am a Junior majoring in Journalism and Spanish with a BDIC curriculum. I am on the marketing committee for ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) Boston Chapter, and at UMass I serve on two executive boards: Public Relations Officer for the UMass Gospel Choir and Marketing Director for ALPFA UMass Amherst Student Chapter. I am passionate about poetry, music, traveling, and fashion. I also dabble in design, photography, and videography. I'm all about spreading love and being an active member in my community. Here's a quote I live by: "If there's one thing I've learned in life, it is to never rush through it."
